The University of Illinois Press was on-hand selling books.

The boat run from Saturday was move to Sunday and the Michigan Avenue Bridge opened at about 9:15 a.m. A group of us watched from the Gear Room as the gears turned to open the bridge tipping the counterweight into the pit to raise the roadway. If you missed it the Museum will open again next May 2014.
The bridgehouse museum will be Free and Open to the public all day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The book Chicago River Bridges, DVD Chicago Drawbridges, and children's book Bridges of All Kinds sold well after the presentation. Patrick signed all copies sold. The event was held at Jak's Tap at 901 W. Jefferson in Chicago.
Originally the talk was to be given at the Chicago Maritime Museum but was moved since CMM is currently in the process of re-locating from the Helix Building to the Bridgeport Arts Center on Bubbly Creek.

Well attended by over 60 very enthusiastic folks the talk was well received followed by a lively Q&A. Following many people stayed to talk further and pick-up DVDs of Chicago Drawbridges and autographed copies of the children's picture books Bridges of All Kinds. It was a very nice event and for the University Club held in the dramatic Cathedral Room on the club's 9th floor.

Hatch Werks Films' rough cut of the
Rehabilitation of the Wells Street Bridge was featured at the Chicago Engineers Foundation 50th Anniversary and Scholarship Fundraiser. It was a great event attended by over 100 engineers, architects, and supporters--both Union League members and non-members.
The event was well attended and provided good discussions with independent booksellers from around the Midwest.
